For two days in May 2020, the entire team of researchers, guest researchers, scientific advisory board members and steering group from the FUTURED project were invited to a seminar in Bergen. However, as a consequence of the corona-situation, the leaders of the overall project decided to transform the planned event into a webinar.
Through a carefully designed program, participants from a total of six different countries had opportunity to join in to the online convention. Each slot was scheduled to consist of different types of collaboration: in-progress presentations of each work package, with invited commentators, speakers and discussants, as well as group break-out discussions. Feedback from our international guests strengthened the impression of a successful seminar, as one of the evaluation comments suggests:
«On the basis of this experience, I could recommend considering online work with international partners when possible, even if I do love visiting Bergen».
The FUTURED researchers from Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and OsloMet experienced the webinar as a unique opportunity to strengthen the cooperation between all project group members, as they all could take part in the planning, hosting and accomplishment of the webinar across campuses and institutions.
