We are excited to announce the our online course Interprofessional approach to refugee health is now available on Canvas Commons. This course aims to provide educators and learners with a comprehensive resource for understanding and addressing the unique healthcare needs of refugee populations. It examines interprofessional approaches to refugee health, by focusing on health and rehabilitation challenges caused by global migrations. It reviews health, political, environmental, social, technological, legal and environmental causes and consequences of this phenomenon. The course deepens students’ understanding of diverse aspects and challenges to refugee health including both physical and mental health. It prepares students for interprofessional collaboration to address them within different contexts and systems while upholding human rights and promoting equity and inclusion of refugees.
During the PREP IP we offered the course twice in 2023, and have over 350 registered learners from over 20 different professions from all over the world. The version shared in Canvas Commons is an updated version of our course, based on the feedback from participants. With a Creative Commons License BY-NC-SA, we hope that this course will reach more colleagues working in the field of refugee health.
